Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine is a name that she has given her was Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta, she originates from Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing as well as playing the piano at churches. She studied at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B styles of Atlanta. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained attention throughout the four performances during the The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
